Minimum entry requirements:

There are no entry requirements for Year 10 students – if you are interested in Construction and the Application of IT in the Built Environment we are happy to accept you!

Year 12 students wishing to follow Level 2 courses must achieve a minimum of five A*–E grades at GCSE (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics.

Year 12 students wishing to follow Level 3 courses must achieve a minimum of five A*–C grades at GCSE including English Language and Mathematics.

Exceptional students in Year 12 may choose to follow our Level 3+ programme, which will enable students to access university level learning and a larger portfolio of A Level qualifications. Students should achieve eight A*–B grades at GCSE including English Language and Mathematics. Please arrange to meet with our Principal, Tom Macdonald, if you are considering this exciting route.

Note that particular courses at post-16 may have their own minimum requirements (for example, students wishing to study Further Mathematics A Level must achieve grade A in Mathematics GCSE). If you meet the minimum entry requirements but do not meet the minimum requirements for your first choice of courses you will still be offered a place at the UTC and we will assist you in selecting courses appropriate to your qualifications.

We look forward to receiving your application and welcoming you in September 2018.
